Summer

Summer vacation is well underway in the Fontenot family...and so far it's lazy and delicious and super relaxing. Tonight we made one of the kids' best loved summer desserts...strawberry shortcake. No matter how many times we make it as an after dinner treat or mid-day snack, our kids just can't get enough of it. Even Mia licked the very last dollop of whipped cream off of her chubby little fingers.
Bree almost missed hers, because she stubbornly refused to eat her chicken which was the requirement in order to get dessert. She finally did finish...well, Zoe, our dog may have helped a bit. Just a little.
Ahhhh, sweet summer.
Iced tea, afternoon naps, trips to the lake, sitting outside on the bench on our porch, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
