My vent on ruined ink pens, dry erase markers and dried out sharpies

Why can't anything in our house be kept nice? Why does everything, sooner or later, and most usually sooner around here, become ruined, broken, maimed, or damaged at the hands of...well by little hands? Is no sharpie, highlighter, dry erase marker, or good pen sacred? Must they ALL be located, dried out, and missing their tops in someone's bed, drawer, shoe, or most horrendously, in the pocket of newly washed pants? Why must my little ones write on inappropriate surfaces? Yesterday, Isaiah wrote on our piano. With red sharpie. Then, this morning, I found the same sharpie in Alex's bed, after she'd applied it as an eyeliner/shadow combination to her face. Must my Glamor magazine be located, pages pulled out, purfume samples strewn across the floor, before I've even read it?
I get very frustrated. Very. At the start of the school year, I bought crayons for the house so that the kids could use them for their school work. Here it is, not even the end of October, and when Brandon started his poster last night, he couldn't find a single, solitary crayon in the school supply drawer.
Okay, vent over.

I had to learn to give up my rights about things that are not eternal, otherwise, I would have a perpetual anger problem. As a family, we recently read Otto Koning's The Pineapple Story and each made a list of our "rights". Then we prayed and gave these rights to the Lord. FREEDOM! Not that we shouldn't teach our children to take care of the things God allows us to have, but we don't allow these non-eternal items to mar our relationships. You have a BEAUTIFUL family! Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

bloggers made good content as you probably did, the web shall
be much more useful than ever before.
