Cabin Fever...

I'm so sick and tired of ice. Yes, it's beautiful. Yes, the snow days and the extra time they bring are nice (although maybe not as nice as a quiet afternoon spent with six kids in school!) but the slick roads and chilling temps are starting to wear on me. I'm ready for warm weather, blue skys rather than grey and getting out of the house without having to put fifty pounds of gear on the little ones and then stand outside of my van freezing my tail off while buckeling lots of kiddos into car seats, only to have to do it again at every stop. And I'm not even going to mention how long it takes for a fifteen passenger van to heat up, even with the heater on full blast. Okay, well I sort of just did...it takes a really long time. Like, half way to our destination long.
The funny thing is, that even as I type, I know that the heat of mid summer is going to bring similar woes and complaints about how ready I am for fall! That's just how I am though....I think I want to move somewhere else. Somewhere were the weather is a nice, even, comfy 75-80 degrees year round. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. Hawaii. You and the fam won't have a place to live, food to eat, or a vehicle to take you anywhere but you will at least have warm, beautiful weather and plenty of water to skinny dip in. I say skinny dip due to not being able to afford swim suits.

LOL. Hawaii is expensive but wonderful. I hope this brought a little smile to your face.

  2. Jennifer,
I just cracked up reading that. Because as soon as I saw the word Hawaii, I thought the exact same thing that you wrote! Gosh, it would be beautiful though...maybe we could eat seaweed and hotdogs and weave our own clothing out of grass....it could work.

  3. Still praying in Seattle!
Psalms 31:1-3 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

  5. Know that the Lord is always with you, wrapping His loving arms around you and holding on tight!
Psalms 18:2-6 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
