Exciting news in the Fontenot Family! Drew is trying out for American Idol. He and Albert left in the wee hours of Sunday morning to stand in line in the thunderstorms and register. Now they go back tomorrow morning before 5:00 a.m. for the auditions. We are so extremely proud of Drew (and I'm extremely proud of his Daddy!!!) for having the confidence and courage to do this! We have no idea what auditions will hold as this is a first for us, but Drew is having so much fun with it and its great audition experience.
I would love to say that the whole family is going to be there for his audition, as that was our original plan, however we were unaware that if you wanted to attend the auditions, you had to be present at registration to get a wristband. So the rest of us will have to pray and cheer from home! Like I said, this is a first for us...
I am getting ready to pack up sandwiches and water bottles for Albert and Drew to take with them as the paperwork indicates that the potential contestants should "be prepared to stay all day." The papers didn't mention food at all, either in the list of items to bring, or items that were prohibited so again, we have no idea what to expect. They said no coolers allowed, so I think I'll just pack sandwiches that don't need refrigeration and water bottles and maybe some fruit. I'm thinking that they can grab something on the way down to the Scott Trade Center (the site of the auditions) as well.
I have told Albert that I expect them to keep me updated by phone at each step of the way tomorrow. I want to hear about everything!!! I hope that Albert takes as many pictures as his camera can hold. I'll post updates as I hear them.
Drew has been practicing for the last couple of hours in his room. Sometimes I sneak up to his door and listen. He sounds so good. I'm so happy for him that he gets to do something this fun!!!!
Even though our town is small, Drew is not alone! Our neighbor who lives just a couple doors down, Chasity is also auditioning. We have heard her sing before from school and she is fabulous!!! I am super excited to hear how she does as well. I spoke with her earlier this evening and wished her lots of luck!
So tomorrow is the big day and we can't wait! Good luck Drew and Chasity!!!!

This is so exciting! I'm glad Simon's not there anymore! He's way too mean! Hope it all goes well! GO DREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Know that I'm praying so at this end!
Revelation 7:16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
