We are in birthday season around here! I call it birthday season because we have six birthdays between September 29th-December 26th. We have already had Isaiah, Alexandria, Brandon, and Sydney's birthday. Next Tuesday is Bree's third birthday and then Manny is the day after Christmas.
We are expecting Albert's Dad and Step mom in town next week for Thanksgiving. Our children are beyond excited at the prospect of spending time with their grandparents. Albert and I are in full planning mode for Thanksgiving dinner. I've been looking up recipes and menu ideas. We love cooking Thanksgiving dinner together and eating with our kids at home. We can't wait.
My mom has also told us that she's coming for Christmas. We are very excited about that, as this will be the first Christmas that Nana has spent with us. More menu and recipe planning is underway for that! The kids are excited to start decorating as soon as Thanksgiving has passed.
Lots of busy bodies here, lots of excitement and lots of looking forward to the days and weeks ahead. The anticipation here is very heavy! I love the holiday season...it's such a wonderful time of the year...it just seems so warm and cozy and family-ish. I have noticed that I've been slacking on updates, so I will make a better effort to get better with that. I miss writing and putting all our family happenings and activities on paper..or online.
If anyone has any great recipes for Thanksgiving side dishes please let me know! I'd love to hear them!

One of my favorite things is making homemade stuffing. My secret ingredient is subsituting 7up for half of the water. Creates a wonderful unique flavor.
ReplyDeleteBesides the turkey, potatoes, etc, I do two sides. If I don't do them, the kids get upset. But it's nothing special...green beans with bacon and onions, and FRESH fruit salad. Used to do canned and it was okay, but nothing beats fresh!
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray!
Psalms 91:14-15 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

ReplyDeleteLamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

ReplyDeletePsalms 20:5-7 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
