It's Appointment Time Again

...And right after that most recent post, I had another opportunity for a fun filled pediatric appointment featuring me, alone, with all of my kids ages five and younger. Our ordeal...um, appointment lasted two hours from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. But I have to admit, it is so much easier than it would have been just three years ago....
The exam room was very small, or seemed that way with Isaiah, Alexandria, Sydney, Kambree and Mia all crammed in. I brought a stroller for Mia, and while she didn't stay in it the whole time, it did entertain her by giving her something to continually climb in and out of, and push around (as best she could within the small confines of the room). I picked out a spot on the floor and had the twins sit there. I know, I know, the floor is filthy and if I only had one kid, I'd never dream of sitting them on the floor, but understand, sometimes I have to prioritize my concerns. And in this situation, the germs on the floor were not the priority. Perhaps it should have been. More on that in a moment.
I gave a polite warning to the twins that when the pediatrician came in to examine Sydney, I expected them to remain quiet and not talk out. Or shout. They obeyed for the most part, with the exception of the random mouth noises that Alexandria repeatedly made in an effort to get our attention.
As it turned out, Sydney had to get two vaccinations and since we passed on the twins shots at their last check up (it was three days before Christmas and I didn't want to chance anyone not feeling good then), they were each in need of two boosters.
The nurse came in to administer the shots and the twins were total champs. They lined up, each got a shot in each arm, no one complained, no one cried, no one shouted out. Until it was Sydney's turn. Sensing without even being told, that the nurse was about to turn the needle her way, Sydney lept from the table, grabbed a hold of my shirt and started screaming. Loudly. She screamed "No, no, no, no!" over and over. She climbed up my lap, still screaming. The twins, Bree and Mia looked on in shock, unsure of what to do. I tried to hold Sydney still and explained that it wouldn't really hurt and that the twins were fine after their shots. The twins both told her that their shots hadn't really hurt but Sydney wasn't having it. Finally I had to restrain her on my lap while the nurse quickly issued the shots. Even when she was finished, Sydney continued to howl. The nurse had to bring Popsicles for everyone to get her to calm down. She stopped crying to inform the nurse that she wanted "purple."
This morning, Alexandria woke up screaming. She screamed that her arm hurt and her belly hurt. The arm makes sense. The injection site is sore. I didn't do a good job of making sure they moved their arms around after getting their shots yesterday. But the belly ache was new. Now, we are wondering whether the belly ache (that has caused tons of tears all day long) is the result of some type of virus (maybe germs she picked up off the floor? With my luck, probably) or is a side effect of the shot. God, please let it be a side effect and not something some one else will catch. Waiting on the pediatrician's office to call us back. Fun times!

1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Psalms 69:1-3, 13 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God...But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Psalms 130:1-2, 5-7 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications (5-7) I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

Know that the Lord is always with you, wrapping His loving arms around you and holding on tight! Praying right now!
Psalms 18:2-6 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Here praying as always!
Psalms 18:28-30 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Psalms 40:1-4a I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust...

Psalms 40:5, 11, 13 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. (11) Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. (13) Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

What comfort we have knowing that the Lord is our Refuge! Praying!
Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The greatest comfort we can ever have is knowing that the Holy Spirit Himself is praying!
Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
