Our Little Boy is Still a Boy

This afternoon was our formal anatomy scan- scheduled of course, a few weeks late, because it just wouldn't be me otherwise. And before leaving for work this morning, Albert discovered that we had a majorly flat tire on the van...which makes two flat tires in a week. Seriously, who gets two flat tires in under a week? Moving on though, the tire was patched and I got to our ultrasound on time. Our little one is definitely still a boy and he was very active. I got to see him in 4D again and he was the sweetest thing. He puts his hands over his face at every ultrasound we have. The funny thing is, Sydney and I both also do this, anytime we are sleepy or ready to be left alone. It's crazy how he makes the same exact motions his mom and sister do already, before even being born. True to his nature at both 13 and 16 weeks, he still likes to try to burrow in whatever soft places he can find, and likes to lay face down. I am in love with him.

We are trying to find names for our list to take to the hospital when he is born. Kambree is pretty adamant that his name should be Sam, which is on our list, but is only one of the names on the list. But not according to Bree. She calls him "Sam" when she talks about him, which is totally opposite from Sydney who refers to him as "that boy in your belly."

In other news, it's movie night for the older kids and the little ones are having a camp out in the living room watching movies. Right now is The Land Before Time. I love those movies. Isaiah is not so impressed. Today, Alexandria asked me for a pen and paper. I told her not right now, because I was busy and couldn't watch Mia closely and if Mia gets ahold of any writing utensils, she writes all over herself, her siblings and any available wall space. Not good. Alexandria was less than pleased with my answer and proceeded to go on a very long winded whining spree. Sydney suddenly walked up to her, presented her with a sharpened pencil, glanced in my direction and said, "Just don't listen Alex. Just don't listen." Oh yeah. We are going to have lots of trouble with Sydney. I can tell now.

2 Samuel 22:2-3, 7 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. (7) In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

  2. Always praying!
2 Samuel 22:29-33 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

Hebrews 6:17-20 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

  4. These words are so very comforting! Praying right now!
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

  5. Lifting up prayers!
Psalms 145:14-18 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

  6. Know that I'm here praying!
John 11:25-26: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

  7. Praying!
Psalms 5:1-3 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

  8. Don't think I told you but Hannah's going to find out on the 29th which she's having. That's the day her second child was due...kinda ironic.
No matter what happens, the Lord is our shield! Praying!
Psalms 5:11-12 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
