FAMILY ZOO DAY AND SYDNEY'S CHECKUP

Saturday was Family Zoo Day sponsored by Friends Of Kids With Cancer. They sponsor this event every year. It's one of our family's favorite times of the year. We got off to a bit of a late start but eventually made it there. The kids voted on what to do first and they picked the train rides. We spent the whole day there together and did so many fun things! We had a fabulous lunch at the food court...until Emanuel stood up and belched really loudly and we made him say a public "excuse me" just as loud. He then proceeded to pout for 20 minutes. We went to a 3-D show, the penguin/puffin encounter, the Sea Lion show, stopped for snow cones and saw lots of animals. The funny thing is, no matter how many times we plan to do and see everything we NEVER get to it all in one day. This time we ran out of time/steam for the elephants, the dino exhibit, the whole children's zoo (we've been there plenty in the past) and all the big cats.
We had a blast. It was really an amazing time. I'm working on a video montage of the day.
Sydney has been under the weather this weekend. Last night she had a fever of 102.7. I'm hoping it isn't the strep that the rest of us had! She had her 6 month visit today. She weighed 16 pounds 6 oz and was 27 inches long. That puts her in the 50th for her weight and 90th for height. Even though she had been ill, since she didn't have a fever right then, the dr. felt okay giving her a whole batch of shots. She had gotten behind when she was sick at her last checkup so Dr. Young wanted to catch her up reasoning that it wouldnt make her feel any yuckier than she already felt. Now, poor Sydney looks so crummy I wish I'd waited on some of those. She got 4 shots and one oral rotovirus one.
So our night consists of comforting and rocking Sweet Sydney. Oh, I hope she sleeps well tonight.
