Ahhh, yes. Our old familar winter weather friend- RSV. This year RSV has, as is its habit, paid a visit to the youngest member of the family, which this season means Kambree.
Bree has been coughing and breathing heavy for a few days but it seemed to get worse this morning. We ended up taking her into Urgent Care where a nasal swab revealed the positive result.
My poor little angel is working so hard to breath comfortably. She got two breathing treatments back to back at Urgent Care. I hate watching her struggle. At the time we were discharged from Urgent Care both Albert and I were not happy at all with how she looked but the nurse insisted that considering she had RSV, she looked okay. I don't beleive it though. I feel certain we'll end up in the ER in the next few days. This is afterall, the same nurse that told us Bree looked great when we first brought her in. We stared at her in disbeleif. Was she looking at the same baby we were? The one who was having belly retractions...grunting with each breath...very cranky??? The doctor came in behind her and immediately noticed she was struggling. I'm glad someone noticed what we saw.
While at Urgent Care we recieved a phone call from the boys who had stayed home (snow has closed all the schools in the area). Before leaving we had made fish sticks for them to eat for lunch. They were all ready. They needed only to be put on the plates and eaten. Yet, even this simple task proved too difficult for our boy. Emanuel called frantically to inform us that there were no more fish sticks and that Drew and Brandon had eaten them all....all. 80. fishsticks.
Albert quickly handed the fishstick fiasco while I adminstred Bree's second breathing treatment.
Upon leaving we got a prescription for Albuteral and instructions that Apria Home Health would be delivering a nebulizer. Then we discovered that Bree has not been properly added to our insurance policy. Due to some error in human resources, she was only added to the vision policy. Thank God we have pubic aid as a backup secondary insurer. Albert is at the pharmacy now getting her RX.
This has put a bit of a damper on our snow day. The babies would have been able to play in it. Sydney has NEVER been out in the snow but as they are all sick, I can't really let them out. Just have to hope we get another chance later this season.
Off to get babies up from naps. Oh what a day...

I am sorry she is so sick! We dealt with RSV with Owen when he was just a baby. I know it is no fun!! We ended up in the hospital for 3 days! Hope she is feeling better soon!
What a downer of a day. I am so sad to hear that Bree has RSV! Jaden had it at 2 months old and it was so scary!!! Get Better Baby Bree!!!! The fishstick story had me rolling off my chair in laughter. It boggles the mind to think about what goes on in the mind of BOYS!!!!
awww poor baby! We've never had RSV here but we have had to do breathing treatments in the ER for croup several times.
Am so sorry she's so sick! Oh I hope she doesn't share!
Know that I'm always here praying!
Psalms 32:6-7 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Oh, RSV sucks. Hope they get better soon. 80 fish sticks? HOLY!
We had a foster child with RSV. Spent the whole day in a crowded ER until they could find him a room, there were so many kids sick with it that year. He did perk up after about eight hours but by then I was exhausted holding him that whole time. I hope your precious little one gets better quickly.
