Developmental Screening Results...

Glad to say officially that Isaiah is not autistic! We had his developmental screening and the developmental ped. said that he was way to responsive and interactive to be autistic. He had excellent eye contact and social interactions.
He may possibly have apraxia of speech and its possilbe that he could have a neurological problem of some sort. She suggested an MRI to look into this, but I'm not sold on it. It's not the MRI I mind so much as yet another intubation. So, we'll see. As for the apraxia of speech they said it was too early to diagnose something like that, so for now, its just somthing they are leaning towards keeping an eye on.
I must admit, I don't have a whole lot of confidence in evaluations and things of that nature. It seems each and every person who's evaluated him over the last two years has reached a different conclusion. It also seems that the amount of overlap between differing "issues" is huge and often I find some of the treatments and therapies to be...well...a bit hookey. As in, I won't be brushing my son's skin or doing weird mouth excercizes with his gums or tounge. He'll just have to grow out of any issues he has there. Not saying it doesn't work for some kids, just saying I don't personally, completely buy into all of it.
Albert and I will have to discuss the MRI. The twins have their 3 year old well check at the end of the month so we'll have our pediatrician give us her opinion. The ped. we saw yesterday said she felt Isaiah had low tone. This is odd becuase I'd always felt he was rather stiff, and some others who've evaluated him in the past have thought the same thing. So, time will tell...
The twins will be three on the 29th! We're planning a big family celebration in Millstadt at Eckert's Orchard. You can rent a space to have a bonfire and roast marshmallows and hotdogs. Should be a blast. We can't wait.
In other great news, we got Drew's labs back today. Platelets were 180,000! Yay! He is in Waterloo right now playing football!

Glad Drew's cooperating!
About Isaiah...there are things going on with him that have you that concerned? I think I missed that. Praying that it is something he's just going to outgrow!
