Thirty-Five and Six

Two days ago, Albert celebrated the big thirty-five, and Brice celebrated the big Six! Happy birthday to two of my seven favorite men in the whole world! We had a great time. Albert and I snuck out with just Brice and took him to Chuck E. Cheese for a couple hours. It was around 3:30, so it wasn't crowded yet. It felt so weird to just order ONE pizza and not a table full of them! We came home and had pineapple-caramel cake, as requested by Daddy and Brice. Okay well, really, in the interest of full disclosure I should say that this means we BOUGHT a cake from the grocery store bakery that was basically a pound-cake, and then I made the pineapple-carmel topping and poured it over the pound cake. It was delicious, and very sweet! Albert and I only had a small taste since we are trying to eat healthier...the kids tore it up!

Saturday we are doing a barbecue for Albert and Brice and the kids are excited about that. We love to celebrate here. We love family parties, and we love to strech out birthdays into week long events. I suppose one of the bonus items of a big family is that we always have enough people to celebrate in a big, fun way, even if we don't invite anyone else! In this case, we're hoping Albert's sister and her boys join us. We'll take lots of pictures!
